Responsibilities

Job Summary

Performs a variety of purchasing-related functions such as receiving, stocking, issuing, and transporting items medical supplies and equipment.  Incumbents also enters receiving data into the computerized materials management system.

Incumbents are accountable for significant attention to detail, fostering and practicing the highest levels of customer service through effective communications and cooperation between departments, assisting with orientation of new employees to the system and completing ongoing training of the system, continually maintaining knowledge of medical supply terminology, purchasing functions, policies, and procedures.

Essential Duties:

  • Receives supplies from vendors; verifies and counts against packing lists and freight bills to ensure correctness of shipment. 
  • Fills stock requisition orders and delivers to requesting department.
  • Enters receiving information into inventory management system in accordance with department procedures.
  • Breaks down stock items in break-out area and stores in designated locations in storeroom.
  • Maintains storeroom/work area in a neat and clean condition.
  • Performs related duties as required.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

Any combination of experience and education that would demonstrate the capability to perform the duties 

of the position.  

Previous purchasing experience is desirable.
