Student Sonographer
The posted compensation range of $14.08 - $19.36 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. As a Student Sonographer at CHI St. Vincent, you'll record the images and relay a clinical impression as indicated. The results of these examinations are used to direct the course of patient care. The Student Sonographer has knowledge of abdominal, pelvic, obstetric, small parts,abdominal and peripheral vascular physiology, and disease.
With guidance from management and team leads, the student performs clinical examinations on adults, geriatric patients, adolescents, and pediatric age groups. The examinations are performed in a variety of locations, including a level 1 trauma center and/or critical care facility. The student has daily contact with professionals, patients and families and may assist other radiology modalities and/or clinical services.

Responsibilities
- Performs appropriate patient care conditions essential for the completion of the procedure for patients of all ages under the supervision of a Registered Technologist.
- Performs sonographic procedures on patients of all ages properly, according to the sonography Procedure Manual standard of obtaining diagnostic images under the supervision of a Registered Technologist.
- Safely transports wheelchair, stretcher and ambulatory patients as needed under the supervision of a Registered Technologist.
- Documents technical factors on all procedures immediately upon completion of the procedure under the supervision of a Registered Technologist.
Qualifications
- High school graduate
- A minimum of twelve (12) months education in a JRCERT accredited School of Diagnostic Sonography.
